Joseidaki

In Sakugi-cho, Miyoshi City, Joseidaki plunges about 126 meters, making it the finest waterfall in Hiroshima Prefecture. It is the only Hiroshima entry on the list of Japan top one hundred waterfalls, and its waters fall in three distinct tiers. From top to bottom they are named Aranami, Shiraito, and Tamamizu, each tracing the rock face with a different expression in an overwhelming display. Surrounded by the roar echoing through the valley and the rising spray, visitors feel their everyday fatigue wash away, which is why it is cherished as one of the leading power spots in the Chugoku region.

Highlights

- The grand full view of the waterfall divided into three tiers, where you can enjoy the upper Aranami, the middle Shiraito, and the lower Tamamizu, each living up to its name. - The walking path leading near the basin, where the mist and fresh air feel wonderful and let you take in the power of nature with your whole body. - The rich forest all around, where only birdsong and the sound of water break the silence and soothe every visitor.

Enjoying the Seasons

In the fresh green season the vivid greenery harmonizes beautifully with the white of the falls. Summer is ideal for those seeking cool relief, and autumn foliage makes the waterfall even more striking. After rain the volume swells, revealing an even more powerful sight.
