Morning Market Continuing 1,000 Years

Wajima Morning Market is held every morning (closed: Wednesdays and 2nd/4th Thursdays) in Wajima City, Ishikawa, one of Japan's Three Great Morning Markets said to have "1,000 years of history." About 200-300 stalls line about 200m selling fresh seafood, vegetables, and Wajima lacquerware.

Noto's Seasonal Bounty

Wajima Morning Market allows purchasing Noto's four-season bounty. Seafood includes abalone, sea cucumber, turban shells, and squid unique to Noto, with dried seafood and processed products also abundant. Wajima lacquerware and craft items are also sold in large numbers.

Gourmet to Taste at the Morning Market

At market stalls, freshly fried gourmet including "squid tempura" and "dried blackthroat seaperch" can also be enjoyed on the spot. Wajima Morning Market where you can encounter Noto's fresh ingredients is a must-see sightseeing spot.
