Eboshidake Observatory

Eboshidake, one hundred seventy six meters high, rises at the center of Tsushima City in Nagasaki Prefecture. Near its summit stands an observatory boasting the finest view on Tsushima. Aso Bay, with its deeply indented coastline and countless islands large and small, is one of Japan leading ria coasts. From the observatory you can take in this grand scenery in a full three hundred sixty degrees.

To the east lies the Tsushima Strait and to the west the Korea Strait, and the view sweeps over the history and nature of Aso Bay, which has thrived as a natural harbor since ancient times. It is a power spot that truly symbolizes Tsushima.

Access and Basic Information

- Location: Mitsushima, Tsushima City, Nagasaki Prefecture - Access: About twenty minutes by car from Tsushima Airport, about ten minutes by stairs from the parking lot to the observatory - A road and parking are maintained to near the summit - Choosing a day with good weather lets you see farther

A Quick Tip

You climb stairs from the parking lot to the observatory, so wear shoes you can walk in easily. The summit can be windy, so bringing an extra layer is reassuring.
