Tsuyu Tenjin Shrine (Ohatsu Tenjin)

Tsuyu Tenjin Shrine, tucked quietly in the Umeda entertainment district of Kita Ward, Osaka City, is an ancient shrine with over a thousand years of history. Known as the setting of the masterpiece The Love Suicides at Sonezaki by the Edo-period playwright Chikamatsu Monzaemon, it is affectionately called "Ohatsu Tenjin" after the story's heroine, Ohatsu. Drawing on this tragic love story, it is now visited by many worshippers as a power spot for success in love and matchmaking.
