Abukuma Cave

Abukuma Cave in Takine, Tamura, Fukushima, is a limestone cave (approximately 600m general tourism course) formed in the limestone plateau of the Abukuma Mountains. Discovered during quarrying operations in 1969, it was opened to the public in 1973.

Getting There

- From JR Banetsu East Line Kamimata Station by taxi: about 15 minutes - About 30 minutes by car from Banetsu Expressway Ono IC

Tips

The cave is cold even in summer (about 13°C) — bring a light layer. The adventure course popular with children requires physical effort. Many visitors also combine with nearby "Irimizu Stalactite Cave."
