Myogi Shrine in Tomioka, Gunma, is an old shrine set on Mount Myogi, one of the three famous peaks of Gunma known for its strange rocks and sheer cliffs. Its enshrined deity is said to grant blessings of victory, advancement, and success in work, and the shrine has long been cherished by those facing a challenge. The halls, built against steep rock faces, are solemn indeed, and the sacred air deepens as you climb the long stone steps. The space just before the steps leading to the main hall is quietly known as a place where energy gathers.
