Senga Falls

Senga Falls, located upstream of the Tsukumo River in Matsuida in Annaka, Gunma, is a quiet waterfall flowing within the forest. The name is said to come from a legend that when Matsuida castle fell, the lord daughter named Osen threw herself into the water. You can reach the falls with just a five minute walk along a path from the parking area, which makes it pleasantly easy to visit. A stone lantern stands at the entrance, and stone Buddha figures are enshrined behind, lending the place a quiet air of prayer.

Enjoying the Seasons

A Quick Tip

The short path makes it easy to visit, but footing can be slippery after rain, so take care. To enjoy the quiet, the morning hours with fewer people are recommended.
