Tada Shrine

Standing in Kawanishi City in Hyogo, Tada Shrine is a venerable old sanctuary founded in 970, known as the birthplace of the Seiwa Genji. Loved by history enthusiasts as a place tied to the Minamoto clan, it has also remained a familiar place of faith for local people.

The enshrined deities are five lords, led by Minamoto no Mitsunaka, great-grandson of Emperor Seiwa, along with Yorimitsu, Yorinobu, Yoriyoshi, and Yoshiie. Because it honors the founders of a warrior line, it is widely known for blessings of victory, protection from misfortune, and family safety. It is especially famed as a shrine of victory, where athletes and teams facing a contest are known to come and pray for certain success.
