Shirasasa Inari Jinja

Located in Imaizumi of Hadano City, Shirasasa Inari Jinja is a venerable shrine counted among the three great Inari of the Kanto region. Its enshrined deities, including Uka no Mitama, are three gods widely revered as protectors of all aspects of daily life, from livelihood and wealth to the arts, crafts, direction-warding, and travel. It carries a history of being rebuilt by enshrining the Fushimi Inari deity in the Edo period, and on its grounds lies a soothing space where pure spring water flows. Though rarely discussed as a major tourist site, it is a power spot rooted in daily life and deeply loved by local people.

Enjoying the Seasons

Each February the first-horse-day festival is held to pray for a bountiful harvest, drawing many visitors from across the region. The grounds also charm with fresh greenery in spring and coloring trees in autumn, changing expression with each season. The area beside the spring water stays cool even in summer, perfect for when you wish to settle the heart.

- Location: 1089 Imaizumi, Hadano City, Kanagawa Prefecture - Access: By bus from Hadano Station on the Odakyu Odawara Line, get off at Shirasasa Inari Jinja Iriguchi, then about 6 minutes on foot - Hours: Grounds open freely (amulet office during daytime) - Admission: Free (parking available)

A Quick Tip

The first-horse-day season is especially busy, so weekdays are recommended for a quiet visit. Hadano is also known for the famed water of the Tanzawa mountains. Stroll the grounds at a leisurely pace while touching the spring water.
