Kawago no Okusu in Takeo City, Saga Prefecture, is a giant camphor tree said to be over three thousand years old. Standing twenty five meters tall with a trunk circumference of twenty one meters, its presence is overwhelming, and it is designated a national natural monument as one of the largest trees in Japan. The life force overflowing from this great tree that has survived through long ages gives visitors quiet emotion and renewed energy, making it a true power spot.
