Standing in the center of Konosu City, Kou Jinja is an old shrine said to have been founded in the late Kofun period. In the year 1873 it became Kou Jinja by merging three shrines, the Raiden, Kumano, and Hikawa shrines. The stork legend, said to be the origin of the city name Konosu, has been handed down here, and the shrine is known for blessings of childbearing, safe birth, and good ties.
Free of showiness, it is a warm power spot in the center of the prefecture, quietly visited by people praying for family happiness and new life.
