Birthplace of Takeda Shingen

Nirasaki City is located in northwestern Yamanashi, said to be where Sengoku warrior Takeda Shingen was born. Nirasaki is also the origin of the Takeda clan, flourishing as the center of Kai Province during the Sengoku era.

Nirasaki Omura Art Museum

Nirasaki Omura Art Museum was established in his hometown Nirasaki by Satoshi Omura (2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine laureate), selected for the Order of Cultural Merit. Exhibiting a collection centered on sculptural works by female artists, popular as a regional cultural facility.
