Nishino Shrine

In a residential area of Nishi Ward, Sapporo, sits Nishino Shrine. Enshrining the three deities Toyotamahime no Mikoto, Ugayafukiaezu no Mikoto, and Hondawake no Mikoto, it is cherished by local residents for blessings of matchmaking, safe childbirth, protection from misfortune, and rising victory. On the way from the torii to the halls grows an enju pagoda tree, and gently stroking its trunk is said to bring good relationships and long life, making it a heartwarming matchmaking power spot in Sapporo.
