Ako Onsen
In Ako City, known for the tale of the loyal retainers, Ako Onsen rises on a height at Misaki jutting into the Seto Inland Sea, and its great pride is the sweeping view of the water. The mineral-rich salt water retains heat well and is also called the water of revival. On clear days the open-air baths look out as far as Shodoshima and Shikoku, an open and expansive setting.Highlights
The greatest draw is the open-air bath with its hundred and eighty degree view over the Seto Inland Sea. You can soak slowly in the salt-rich water while gazing at the islands floating on the calm inland sea. The Misaki area around the resort is known as a scenic spot, and walking the coastal paths and viewpoints is recommended. Many inns also serve the fresh seafood of the Seto Inland Sea.Enjoying the Seasons
Winter brings Seto Inland Sea oysters and other seafood into season, letting you enjoy the baths and the flavors together. In summer a soak after swimming at the nearby beach feels lovely, and in spring and autumn the mild climate invites seaside strolls. The gentle scenery of the inland sea spreads out all year.Access and Basic Information
