This laid-back southern course strings together hot springs and grand scenery.

Highlights
The sand bath is of course the star. The sensation of being wrapped in the weight and warmth of natural sand is something you can only find here. Seen from Nagasakibana, Mount Kaimon is a splendid peak whose conical ridgeline recalls Mount Fuji, making it perfect for photos.
Access and Tips
The sights around Ibusuki are spread out, so a rental car lets you cover them efficiently. If you rely on buses, check the sightseeing loop timetable in advance. For the sand bath you can bring a towel or rent one on site.
A Quick Tip
The sand bath feels easier on a slightly empty stomach than right after a meal. Drink plenty of water first, do not overdo it, and wrap up in around ten minutes.
