Kamo Shrine

Kamo Shrine in Omihachiman City is an old shrine said to have been founded in the Nara period using the arts of onmyodo. It is believed to have been laid out by reading the directions, and it is known for blessings of warding off misfortune by direction, dispelling bad luck, forming bonds, and guarding horses and traffic. As the land once raised horses for the imperial court, it has a deep connection to horses and is known for an annual horse ritual, making it a hidden spot rich in history.
