Masumida Shrine

Masumida Shrine, located in the center of Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture, is a prestigious ancient shrine known as the first shrine of Owari Province. The very name of the city, Ichinomiya (meaning "first shrine"), derives from this shrine. Its enshrined deity is Amenohoakari-no-Mikoto. Believed to bless career, advancement, and protection from misfortune, it is a power spot frequented by businesspeople.

In July, the Ichinomiya Tanabata Festival is held, decorating the area with colorful Tanabata ornaments. Counted among Japan's three great Tanabata festivals, it is a summer highlight. Autumn brings a calm atmosphere, and winter is busy with New Year's worshippers.
