Hattori Shrine

In Yamashiro Onsen, Kaga, Hattori Shrine is an old shrine that stands quietly on a rise above the hot spring town. It enshrines Amenohazuchio no Kami, a god of weaving, and Kukurihime no Kami, known as a goddess of matchmaking, and has long been revered as a guardian of the hot springs. Set in a lively spa town, it remains a calm, little-known power spot.

Highlights

- As a shrine dedicated to a god of weaving, it has drawn the faith of those involved in textiles and handcraft - Because the kukuri in Kukurihime suggests the idea of binding together, it is cherished for its blessing of matchmaking - The Hitokoto Jizo said to grant a single wish. People never stop bringing their palms together before its simple figure

Enjoying the Seasons

In spring the trees of the precinct bud and the spa town is pleasant to stroll. Autumn allows a quiet visit alongside the surrounding fall colors. After soothing your body in the hot springs, a walk up to the shrine on the rise makes for a day that settles the heart as well.
