Tokyo Somei Onsen Sakura, a Hot Spring in the Home of the Somei Cherry
Tokyo Somei Onsen Sakura
The Somei Yoshino, the most representative variety of cherry tree, is said to have been born here in the Somei area of Toshima. Tokyo Somei Onsen Sakura, welling up in that very place, is a refined city day-trip bath where you can enjoy chloride water drawn from deep underground. Although it is conveniently within walking distance of Sugamo Station, the interior has a calm atmosphere that lets you forget the bustle of the streets.
Highlights
- Warming chloride water rising from deep underground - A Japanese-style interior fitting for its cherry-blossom name - A well-equipped bathing area with both open-air and indoor baths - A day-use facility with dining and relaxation optionsEnjoying the Seasons
As the cherry in its name suggests, this is a place to visit in spring alongside a tour of the nearby blossom spots. A soak while thinking of the cherry trees in the place of their birth is something special.
