Daisenji Amidado, an Old Hall Quiet in the Forest of Mount Daisen
Daisenji Amidado
Mount Daisen is a famous peak of Tottori. Within the precinct of Daisenji, opened on its slope, an old hall called Amidado stands quietly. Set in the forest a little apart from the busy area around the main hall, it is a calm hidden spot where visitors are few.
This hall was built around the end of the Muromachi era and is designated a national important cultural property. The Amida triad enshrined inside is also precious, with all three figures designated national important cultural properties. Standing before the old hall wrapped in forest, you quietly sense the depth of prayer handed down across long years.
