Togo Onsen

Togo Onsen

On the southern shore of Lake Togo in Yurihama Town, Togo Onsen faces Hawai Onsen across the water and offers a calm, settled atmosphere. This lake is known for springs that rise even from its bed, creating the curious sight of hot water bubbling up here and there across the surface. Rather than liveliness, this spa suits those who wish to savor the waters and the scenery in quiet.

Highlights

A foot bath by the shore lets visitors cook hot-spring eggs in the naturally heated water, a local specialty. A large bathing facility overlooking the lake makes it easy to relax on a day trip. From nearby Matsuzaki Station, the San'in Line offers lake views from the train window, making it a convenient stop on a rail journey.

Enjoying the Seasons

Spring paints the shore with cherry blossoms, while summer's sunsets glow across the water. In autumn you can soak while watching the tinted mountains reflected in the still lake, and in winter, waterfowl gather along its edge. Though understated, the way this spa keeps company with the lake's gentle moods through every season is its quiet appeal.

Access and Basic Information

It lies within walking distance of JR Matsuzaki Station and about a ten-minute drive from Kurayoshi Station. It is also close to the Tomari-Togo interchange on the San'in Expressway, making car access easy. The lakeside facility and foot bath welcome day visitors, so you can enjoy the waters casually while taking in the view.

A Quick Tip

To cook a hot-spring egg at the foot bath, bring a raw egg or pick one up at a nearby shop. Since Hawai Onsen is a short walk or drive away, comparing the two spas on opposite shores of the lake makes for a rewarding outing.
