Things to check before you go

• Due to erosion control works, the route from the Suyama side to Hyakken Falls and the water-drawing point has been closed since January 19, 2015 (the completion date of the works and other details are undecided).
• On July 28, 2024 a visitor was stung by wasps, and the footpath descending to Hyakken Falls from the Oshima Natsuake forest road was closed. It reopened on September 24, 2024 after the nest was removed, but Shinshiro City continues to urge caution regarding hornets and similar insects.
• The falls are covered by trees and bend partway down, so you cannot see the whole cascade. You look up at it from the observation deck.
