Tateyama Onsen Senri no Kaze

This is an onsen resort built facing scenic Hirasago Beach in Tateyama, at the southern tip of the Boso Peninsula. From the top-floor view bath open-air bath spreads a grand panorama taking in the bow-shaped coastline and the horizon. The cuisine, using fish delivered straight from the resort own fixed nets, also has a fine reputation.

A highlight is the bicarbonate spring water, sometimes called a beauty bath. In the outdoor bath set against the sea of Hirasago, you can feel your skin turn smooth while having the vast Pacific to yourself.

In summer, combine surfing or sea bathing at Hirasago with a soak. Winter is mild in Tateyama, and it is the season when the sunset seen from the bath is especially beautiful. The sun sinking into the horizon along the shipping route is unforgettable.

It is about fifteen minutes by car from the Tateyama interchange of the Futtsu-Tateyama expressway, and is also reachable by car from JR Tateyama Station. As it is mainly a lodging facility, check the official site in advance if you are considering day-use bathing.

Check-in around dusk is recommended. After taking a breather in your room, head to the outdoor bath dyed in the sunset glow, and you will forget the cares of the day.
