Yoro Valley Goriyaku no Yu

This is a streamside day-use hot spring in the Yoro Valley of Otaki Town, set on the upper reaches above Awamata Falls. With an outdoor bath and a restaurant, it lets you relax surrounded by the greenery of the Boso hills. It is perfect for a soak after a hike or a stroll among the autumn leaves.

Highlights

The highlight is the outdoor bath where you soak while gazing at the mountain stream. Wrapped in the sound of water and the calls of birds, it makes you forget the bustle of the city. Awamata Falls is within walking distance, so you can enjoy both a valley walk and the hot spring at once.

Enjoying the Seasons

Yoro Valley is known as one of the prefecture best spots for autumn leaves, usually peaking in December. The outdoor bath after viewing the colored valley is exceptional. The fresh greenery of spring and the cool streams of summer are appealing as well.

Access and Basic Information

The address is 176 Awamata, Otaki Town, Isumi District, Chiba. It is open from 10:00 to 18:00, with last entry at 17:00, and closed on Wednesdays, shifting to the day before or after when that falls on a holiday. Visiting by car is convenient, and there is free parking.

A Quick Tip

Combining it with a journey along the Kominato Railway and Isumi Railway local lines is also recommended. The autumn leaf season gets crowded, so an early visit is reassuring.
