This hot spring inn stands in Onomichi, an old port town hemmed in by hillside streets and the Seto Inland Sea. It enjoys the convenience of being within walking distance of Onomichi Station, and it accepts day-use bathing. While soaking in the natural radium spring water, you can savor the lingering mood of an Onomichi journey.

Highlights

You can fully ease the fatigue of travel in baths filled with natural radium spring water. Bathing hours are split between morning and afternoon, making it easy to use at the start or end of a trip. A sauna is available for an additional fee, and there is a cold bath as well. It is a rare natural hot spring in central Onomichi.

Enjoying the Seasons

In spring you can stroll the hillside lanes of Onomichi, and in summer feel the energy of the port town. Autumn offers clear skies and beautiful Seto Inland Sea scenery, while in winter warming up in the hot spring is a pleasure. Stopping by after a walk or a cycle ride lets you soak comfortably in any season.

Access and Basic Information

The inn lies in Kubo, Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, about 15 minutes on foot from JR Onomichi Station, or a short walk from the Nagae-guchi bus stop. It is also known as a base for cycling the Shimanami Kaido. Day-use bathing runs in two parts, roughly 6:00 to 9:30 in the morning and 12:00 to 22:00 from midday, with the morning bath about 500 yen and the later session in the 600 to 700-yen range. A sauna is available for an extra fee. There is no dedicated parking, so drivers use nearby coin lots. The spring is a simple weak-radioactive cold spring. Hours and fees may change, so check the official information before visiting.

Practical Travel Notes

The location pairs easily with Onomichi sightseeing or Shimanami Kaido cycling; use the morning bath for a soak before setting out, or stop by at night to rinse off the day. Bathing alone takes about 30 minutes to an hour. The budget comes to around a thousand yen even with the sauna added. With Senkoji Park, the shopping arcade, and Mukaishima reachable by ferry, the surroundings offer plenty to see, making this a hot spring well suited to exploring on foot or by bike. As there is no parking, drivers should check the location of nearby coin lots in advance.

A Quick Tip

The location makes it easy to combine with Onomichi sightseeing or a Shimanami Kaido trip. Morning bathing is accepted as well, so you can fit in a soak before an early start. If driving, do not forget to confirm where to park.
