Hanamaki Onsen

Spread along the gorge of the Dai River, Hanamaki Onsen is one of Iwates most representative hot spring destinations. Developed in earnest during the Taisho era, its inns still stand shoulder to shoulder, offering a calm setting ideal for unwinding after a day of travel.

Follow the paths and you will find flower beds said to have been designed with the help of the poet Kenji Miyazawa.
