Nyu Daishi (Jinguji)

Nyu Daishi, located in Taki Town, Taki District, Mie Prefecture, is an ancient temple linked to Kobo Daishi whose formal name is Jinguji. It belongs to the Yamashina branch of the Shingon school, and its founding is attributed to Gonso Daitoku, said to be the teacher of Kukai, also known as Kobo Daishi. In the era when Mount Koya forbade women, it was called the Women's Koya as a temple where women too could worship Kobo Daishi, and it gathered deep faith.
