Akiu Onsen

Akiu Onsen in Taihaku Ward of Sendai, Miyagi, is a historic hot spring with well over a thousand years of tradition. According to legend, its waters healed the illness of Emperor Kinmei in the Kofun period. Once known as Natori no Miyu, it was counted alongside Shinano and Inukai as one of the Three Imperial Baths of Japan (Nihon San Miyu).
