• Spring quality: The description differs from inn to inn. The Hita Onsen Ryokan Association describes it as a simple spring. The source used by Hananoki RIVER TERRACE is the Hita Mikumagawa Onsen, a sodium bicarbonate/chloride spring (100% natural hot spring water)
• Source temperature: Hananoki's source gushes up naturally at about 70 degrees from a depth of about 1,500 meters
• How the water is used: Hananoki's open-air bath is free-flowing straight from the source. No water is added; instead the temperature is brought down to a comfortable level using a Yuamedake cooling device
• Indications: Neurosis, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, motor paralysis, stiffness of the joints, bruises, sprains, chronic digestive complaints, hemorrhoids, sensitivity to cold, recovery from fatigue, general health promotion and diabetes, among others (as listed by Hananoki)
• Drinking the water: Hananoki states that its own source is also suitable for drinking
• Day-use bathing (Hananoki RIVER TERRACE): 11:00-22:00, with last admission at 21:00. 1,000 yen for adults, 400 yen for children, free for those under elementary school age, and 800 yen for Hita City residents. Bath towels can be rented from the ticket machine for 400 yen, and face towels are sold in the shop for 300 yen
