Saitama Omiya Hikawa Shrine and Railway Museum Course

Omiya, at the heart of Saitama City, has excellent transport links and gathers a historic shrine and a popular museum close together. This one day course combines a shrine visit with hands on fun and is great for families too.

Course Route

9:30 Start at Omiya Station Walk from the station toward the approach to Hikawa Shrine. It is a calm, green lined path.

13:00 After lunch, head to the Railway Museum Transfer to the New Shuttle and go to the station nearest the Railway Museum.

13:30 Tour the Railway Museum A popular facility lined with real train cars and simulators. Enjoy it thoroughly to end the day.

JR Omiya Station is the starting point. The shrine is on foot and the Railway Museum is one stop away on the New Shuttle, so you can cover everything by public transport alone. The museum is very popular, so to avoid crowds, a weekday or a visit right after opening is recommended.
