Atago Shrine

Atago Shrine sits atop Mount Atago, about 26 meters high, in Minato Ward, Tokyo. Reaching its greenery-wrapped precinct, which feels far removed from the city center, requires climbing a long and steep stone stairway. Known as the Stairway of Success, it owes its fame to an Edo-period legend of a samurai who galloped up on horseback, making it a power spot for career and advancement.
