Ikuji Onsen

Springing in the Ikuji district of Kurobe City, known as a town where pure water wells up, Ikuji Onsen is a quiet bathing spot surrounded by famous waters and the bounty of the fishing port. Its unpretentious hospitality and the rich water culture born of the Kurobe River alluvial fan give travelers a gentle welcome.

Highlights

Around the town of Ikuji, spring-water spots called shozu dot the streets, and you can enjoy touring the famous waters on a town walk. A fishing port lies right beside the hot spring, and being able to taste fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan is a major draw.

Enjoying the Seasons

Flowers coloring the town in spring, sea bathing and a lively port in summer, the foliage of the Tateyama range rising behind in autumn, and cold yellowtail in winter let you enjoy the bounty of Kurobe year round. The spring water stays cold and clear all year.

Access and Basic Information

The inn sits close to Ikuji Station on the Ainokaze Toyama Railway and is a short drive from the Kurobe Interchange on the Hokuriku Expressway. Some inns accept day-use bathing.

A Quick Tip

Using a town-walk guide lets you tour the scattered spring-water spots efficiently. Bringing a container to draw the spring water adds the pleasure of taking some famous water home.
