🍶 Akita|July 3, 2026

Yuze Onsen

Along the Yoneshiro River gorge that runs through Kazuno, inns line up at Yuze Onsen. Its name is said to come from hot water once welling from a rocky rapid, and it remains a calm spa village wrapped in the sound of the stream.

Highlights

The alkaline water is smooth and reputed to leave the skin soft, earning it the name skin-beautifying bath. From the open-air baths facing the gorge you can watch the Yoneshiro River change with the seasons. Walking paths nearby invite gorge strolls and river fishing.

Enjoying the Seasons

Spring buds and autumn leaves color the gorge, and the view from the bath is exceptional. Summer brings a cool river breeze, while winter offers snow-clad valley beauty that stirs the traveler.

Access and Basic Information

Within walking distance of JR Yuze-Onsen Station, it is easy to reach by train. Close to the Tohoku Expressway, it also makes a handy base for Towada and Hachimantai.

A Quick Tip

Many inns are walkable from the station, so it is easy to visit without a car. Book early during the foliage season.
