Todoroki Falls, an Emerald Hidden Power Spot in Ehime

๐ŸŠ Ehime|June 24, 2026

Todoroki Falls

On the Otani River in Ozu City, Ehime, Todoroki Falls is a two-tier cascade of about 15 meters. Its name, meaning roaring, comes from the way water rushes thunderously through gaps in the green-cloaked rock. At certain angles of light the surface glows emerald green, and sometimes layered rainbows appear. Few people visit, so you can stand within a mystical, ion-filled space in a stillness like a hidden paradise, a true hidden power spot.

Highlights

- A two-tier cascade of upper and lower falls, both visible at once from directly below. - A dreamlike color as the surface glows emerald green at the right angle of light. - A quietness, with few visitors, that lets you face the falls in peace.

Enjoying the Seasons

Summer brings cool air and the sound of water, perfect for escaping the heat. The falls framed by fresh green in spring and crimson leaves in autumn are equally beautiful, each season offering a different look. After rain the volume swells, revealing an even more powerful presence.

Access and Basic Information

- Location: Ozu City, Ehime - Access: Reached by car from central Ozu, along a mountain road, so mind the narrow width. - Walking: You walk from the parking area to the falls. - Gear: The footing is often wet, so non-slip shoes are recommended.

A Quick Tip

The emerald glow of the water most often appears when the sun is out. Visit during the bright hours of a clear day to enjoy the most beautiful color.
