Iwaki Yumoto Onsen

In the south of Iwaki City, Iwaki Yumoto Onsen is a historic spring counted among the Three Ancient Springs of Japan, alongside Arima and Dogo. With more than a thousand years since its opening, it is a town that once flourished with the Joban coal mines.

Highlights

The sulphur-scented water is said to keep you warm long after the bath. Nearby stands the Hawaiians resort, and the town is known for the story of the hula girls born from the history of the Joban mines, giving it a lively spirit.

The sea is close and the climate mild all year, with swimming in summer and strolls in spring and autumn. Even winter is pleasant here.
