Jozankei Onsen

Jozankei Onsen in Sapporo's southern ward is called "Sapporo's Inner Retreat." Lined with ryokan and hotels along the upper Toyohira River, it offers spectacular autumn colors amid mountain gorge scenery.

October is peak foliage season. Visit on weekdays to avoid crowds. "Yunohana" is a relatively accessible day-bathing facility.
