🐟 Kochi|June 24, 2026

Iokido

Iokido, in Aki City, Kochi Prefecture, is a natural sea cave carved by wave erosion back when this whole area was sea. After passing through the cave, about five meters high and forty meters long, a mysterious gorge thick with tropical ferns spreads out beyond. It is rare for so many kinds of ferns to live together in one place, and the fern colony is designated a natural monument of Japan. The scene wrapped in moss and ferns is a healing power spot that feels just like a Ghibli world.
