Todoro no Taki, in Kahoku, Kami City, Kochi Prefecture, is a magnificent waterfall that drops eighty-two meters in three tiers. Selected as one of Japan's hundred famous waterfalls, the scenery woven by its glowing blue three-tier basins and the fresh greenery of spring or the colored leaves of autumn is truly spectacular. The sad legend of Princess Tamaori, a daughter of the fallen Heike clan said to have been taken by a great serpent, is still told at this basin, drawing visitors into ancient romance.
