Yamada Onsen

Located near Cape Maeda in Onna Village, Yamada Onsen is a hot spring with a long history, said to have been discovered welling up naturally from the sea back in the Taisho era. Today it is carried on as the bath of a resort hotel, a calm spring with views over the East China Sea.

Highlights

From the bath you can gaze out across the expanse of the East China Sea and lose yourself in the most Okinawan of ocean colors. The resort hotel offers plenty of marine activities as well, and warming up in the water after a day of play feels wonderful.

Enjoying the Seasons

In summer the water resets a body tired from ocean play, while in winter it warms you after the cool evening breeze. On a clear day at dusk, soaking after watching the sun sink into the horizon feels truly special.

Access and Basic Information

About 20 minutes by car from the Ishikawa Interchange on the Okinawa Expressway. The bath is currently run mainly for overnight guests, so it is reassuring to check usage conditions on the official site before your visit.

A Quick Tip

For a spring that people have cherished since long ago, the best approach is simply to soak slowly. Resting your body without rushing while taking in the sea view will surely add a touch of color to your travel memories.
