Ryukyu Onsen Ryujin no Yu (Senagajima)

Just a few minutes by car from Naha Airport, this bathing facility sits on a hill on Senagajima at the Ryukyu Onsen Senagajima Hotel. The natural sodium chloride spring rises from about one thousand meters underground and gently soothes the fatigue of travel.

Highlights

The greatest draw is the open-air bath overlooking the west coast and Naha Airport. Alongside jar baths, rock baths, and reclining baths, there is a standing bath where you can watch planes take off for the outer islands at close range. The two bathing zones, named Golden Dragon and Silver Dragon, alternate between men and women, so each visit feels a little different.

Enjoying the Seasons

Okinawa stays warm all year, but the most special time to bathe is at dusk. Soaking in the spring while watching the sun sink beyond the Kerama Islands is unforgettable. In summer you feel the sea breeze, and in winter the warmth of the water lingers on the skin.

Access and Basic Information

The address is 174-5 Senaga, Tomigusuku City. It is about ten minutes by car from Naha Airport, and Senagajima also has a shopping village with dining and souvenirs. The hot spring is open year round from early morning until late at night, so checking the official site for the latest hours and fees before you go is wise.

A Quick Tip

Choosing a plan that includes towels lets you stop by empty handed. Timing your visit to the standing bath with departing flights makes the memory even richer.
