Ogoto Onsen
Spreading along the western shore of Lake Biwa at the foot of Mount Hiei, Ogoto Onsen is the largest hot spring resort in Shiga, said to have been discovered about 1,200 years ago by Saicho, founder of the Enryakuji temple.

Cherry blossoms line the shore in spring, fireworks light the lake in summer, autumn brings the crimson of Mount Hiei, and winter offers quiet snowy scenery, each season carrying its own lakeside mood.Access and Basic Information
