9:30 Start at JR Fujinomiya Station A gateway easy to reach by car from the Shin Fuji or Fuji interchange.10:00 Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha About a ten minute walk from the station. The head shrine of more than thirteen hundred Sengen shrines nationwide, with a beautiful vermilion main hall and Wakutama Pond fed by Mount Fuji spring water. Mount Fuji itself is the object of worship.
11:30 Lunch with Fujinomiya yakisoba Made with distinctive springy steamed noodles, Fujinomiya yakisoba is the signature local dish. Try it at a shop near the station.
13:00 Travel to Shiraito Falls About a twenty minute drive from the shrine. At this famous waterfall countless threads of water pour down a green cliff like silk, and it is designated a national scenic spot and natural monument. The nearby Otodome Falls is also powerful.
14:30 Walk around the basin View the falls up close from the path, and on clear days Mount Fuji peeks out behind them.
15:30 Rest at a highland or ranch nearby Toward the Asagiri Plateau you can enjoy fresh dairy products and soft serve ice cream.
