Yamanakako Onsen Beni Fuji no Yu (Yamanakako Village)

This day-use bathing facility sits beside Lake Yamanaka, the highest of the Fuji Five Lakes, and takes its name from beni fuji, the mountain glowing red in the light of dawn. Its spacious open-air baths offer an unobstructed, panoramic view of Mount Fuji in all its grandeur.

If you are after the red Fuji, the hour right after opening is your best chance. The open-air baths catch the wind, so in winter watch your timing when getting in and out to avoid a chill.
