Echizen Onsen Roten Buro Isaribi: Day-Use Hot Spring

• Water treatment: Heated, recirculated and disinfected. No water is added and no bath additives are used, and it is not free-flowing
• Opening hours: 11:00 to 21:00 (last admission 20:20)
• Closed: Every Tuesday. Open every day during the summer holiday period, and from November to March it closes only on the second and fourth Tuesdays
• Bathing fee: 520 yen for adults, 310 yen for elementary school students and 200 yen for young children (age 3 and over). Coupon books are 5,200 yen for adults and 3,100 yen for elementary school students
• Family bath: 1,040 yen for adults, 620 yen for elementary school students and 410 yen for young children, for 1 hour. Reservations are taken by phone (0778-37-2360) from one month in advance, and use is in principle limited to parties of 2 or more. Slots start at 11:00, 12:30, 14:00, 15:30, 17:00 and 18:30 (or 19:00), and the bath comes with its own changing room and accessible toilet
• Rest areas: The large tatami hall is free to use, and you may come and go as you please from opening until 19:00. Private rooms cost 1,670 yen on weekdays and 2,300 yen on weekends and public holidays, for 3 hours between 11:00 and 16:00
• Open-air baths: Yes. There are 2 in the Kani-no-Yu area and 1 in the Suisen-no-Yu area

• A note after the beach: You may not enter in a swimsuit or in wet clothes. Brush the sand off your shoes before going in as well
• Parking: Free parking shared with Roadside Station Echizen. There are spaces for large vehicles and EV charging facilities
• Access: Coming by car is the norm. From the Sabae IC on the Hokuriku Expressway it is about 50 minutes via National Route 8, then Routes 417, 365 and 305; from the Tsuruga IC it is about 45 minutes. Public transport is infrequent, and the management corporation itself recommends coming by private car or rental car. If you travel by train, the nearest station is Shinmei Station on the Fukui Railway, from where you take the Fukui Railway Bus Saho Line (weekdays only) and get off at Michi-no-Eki

Worth Combining with Your Visit

The Echizen Crab Museum and Suisen Land, run by the same management corporation, are nearby, so you can take them in together with a drive along the Echizen coast. The town is also home to Echizen Tougei Mura, the pottery village of Echizen ware, letting you plan a day that takes in both the sea and ceramics. Winter coincides with the season for Echizen crab and Echizen daffodils, and the view of the wild Sea of Japan is powerful too.
