Fukuji Onsen

Nestled at the foot of the Northern Alps at about 1,000 meters, Fukuji Onsen is among the quietest of the Okuhida hot spring hideaways. Long known as a spring for healing and recovery, it is lined with inns that make use of old farmhouses.

At the morning market held each day you can find local vegetables and handmade goods. Footbaths and open-air baths dot the small settlement, and the atmosphere of the old houses invites you into the mood of travel.

Access and Basic Information

It is reachable from Takayama Station by Nohi Bus bound for Shinhotaka. By car you go via the national road from the Takayama Interchange.
