Mizusawa Udon

One of Japan's three great udon styles, born near Ikaho Onsen. The firm, transparent noodles are best appreciated chilled.

Yaki Manju

Gunma's soul food โ€” plain wheat buns skewered on bamboo sticks and roasted until golden, then brushed with a sweet savoury miso sauce.

Konnyaku

Gunma produces the vast majority of Japan's konjac. Enjoy sashimi-style, as konnyaku steak or in oden.

Joshu Mugi Buta (Wheat-Fed Pork)

Gunma's premium pork brand. Delicate flavour and tenderness โ€” ideal for shabu-shabu and tonkatsu.

Toge no Kamameshi

Japan's most famous train bento, sold at Yokokawa Station. A clay pot filled with seasoned rice, chicken and burdock root.

Access

Maebashi and Takasaki have many local restaurants. Mizusawa udon is concentrated near Ikaho Onsen.
