Kurotakisan Fudoji Temple

Standing on Mount Kurotaki at about 870 meters in Nanmoku Village, Gunma, Kurotakisan Fudoji is a sanctuary of the protective deity Fudo with over a thousand years of history. Long called the inner sanctuary of the Joshu region, its quiet presence cradled by deep mountains calms the hearts of those who visit. A sacred giant cedar said to be several hundred years old rises before the gate, and behind the main hall the Ryujin waterfall flows between the rocks, carrying clean, refreshing air.
