Japan's top oyster producing prefecture. Hiroshima oysters are plump, creamy and deeply flavoured.

Mazesoba (Soup-free Noodles)

A Hiroshima City speciality โ€” ramen noodles with spicy miso pork sauce and Sichuan pepper. Stir everything before eating.

Gans

Hiroshima's distinctive fish cake โ€” white fish surimi mixed with red pepper, battered and fried.

Anagomeshi (Conger Eel Rice)

A famous specialty from Miyajima โ€” grilled conger eel on seasoned rice, sold as a bento box near the ferry.

Access

Hiroshima City's Hondori area is packed with okonomiyaki restaurants. Oyster restaurants are found in Hatsukaichi and Etajima.
