Tonami Tulip Fair is a representative Toyama spring festival held late April to early May annually, with about 700,000 tulip plants blooming. Nationally known as the "tulip capital Tonami," diverse tulip varieties color the entire park.
Tonami Scattered Farmhouse Village
Tonami City's unique landscape "Sankyo-son" (scattered village) features farmhouses scattered amid vast rice paddies. Farmhouses are surrounded by windbreak forests called "Kainyo" in Tonami, appearing from the air like islands of trees scattered in fields.
Tourism Course with Gokayama
Access from Tonami to Gokayama (World Heritage) is easy, and courses combining the Tulip Fair with Gokayama's Gassho-zukuri farmhouse villages are popular.
