Niigata Sou Odori is a large dance festival held in Niigata City every September. Dances are performed simultaneously at over 10 venues in the city, with about 5,000 participants performing diverse dances.

Diverse dance genres including Bon dance, folk song dance, and yosakoi participate, with a wide range of performances from traditional dances to modern arrangements.
Furumachi and Northern Culture Museum
Niigata City's old entertainment district "Furumachi" hosts outdoor stage dances with the district atmosphere and dancing unified. The Northern Culture Museum (former Ito residence) in Toyosaka is a valuable facility conveying prosperous farmer culture, worth including in autumn sightseeing routes.
